Jim completed his PhD as an ÖAW scholarship holder at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna with a study on inequity aversion and reciprocity in dogs under the supervision of Prof. Friederike Range. He remained at the VetMedUni for a 2-year postdoctoral phase with Prof. Jean-Loup Rault. His research interests and areas of expertise cover social behavior and cognition in animals with a particular focus on cooperation and related behavior. Jim has already been involved in a project on the cognitive basis of cooperation in common ravens at Haidlhof before, which made him a perfect candidate for the postdoc position at Haidlhof Research Station in 2023.
