in October 2022, the Bugnyar Lab invited wildlife biologist John Marzluff from the University of Washington at Seattle who has studied corvids and their behavior for more than 40 years. His fascinating insights and countless stories about corvids’ complex social lives, including how the birds remember, play, communicate, got complemented with his current research on neural circuits underlying this behavior. In a three-day workshop many of these topics were discussed intensively with about 20 members of the Bugnyar Lab at the KLF. Further collaboration in movement ecology is expected.
